I say "successfully" with some qualification because it may take me a while before I've used every program etc to see if there are any issues.īut at least I got operational again and did so without having to load a multitude of programs/applications onto my pc.and have to find all the licence keys etc. With a new hard drive and a bit of fiddling around I got the Acronis ISO Image rescue disk to successfully(?) restore my C drive, the drive with all my programs/applications (non-data) loaded to it. The shop replaced it under warranty, with an apology. Turns out that it was one of an acknowledged faulty batch. Off to the PC shop to find out that my one-year-old single 500GB hard drive had 'died' completely. Then I couldn't get it to boot using the ISO image CD. ![]() On Saturday my computer wouldn't properly start up. An eerie footnote to my post above re Murphy's Law.
